Wednesday
Fair in eastern and southern areas of England this morning with sunny spells and increasing winds. Heavy rain and severe gales in Ireland and western parts of the UK. Gusts to 70mph are likely with a risk of some damage to roofs and trees. The rain spreads north and east through the afternoon, most in Scotland, northern and western England and Wales. Squally showers follow to northern and western Ireland with gusts to 80mph here. Tending to be dry in East Anglia and the far southeast until evening. Highs at 10 to 14C.


Wednesday Night
Rain across southern and southeastern England tonight, this persisting and turning heavier by the morning. Windy in northern England and central and southern Scotland with a risk of heavy rain in Scotland too. Some showers over western coasts and hills. Lows at 8 to 11C.
 


Thursday
A slow moving front brings some heavy and persistent rain to southern and southeastern England on Thursday, this affecting East Anglia too. There is a risk of flooding in these arreas. An arrea of heavy showers passing through Ireland and into Wales and southwest England/ Further heavy showers in northern and western Scotland. Elsewhere the day should be drier with some sunny spells. The rain should clear from the southeast later. Highs at 9 to 12C.


Friday
Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Friday bringing showers to the west and north of Scotland, some of them heavy. These easing into the afternoon. A ridge of high pressure builds across the British Isles during the day giving most areas a brighter, dry day with some good spells of sunshine. Little change is then expected through the day. Highs around a cooler 9 to 12C for most.
