Bright, sunny spells but rain in the south later

A fair morning for most this morning. Some showers along coasts of southern England. A few showers too in western Scotland and northwest England. Dry for other areas with cloud breaking and some sunny spells developing. Good spells of sunshine in Ireland too.

This afternoon stays dry for most with some bright or sunny spells, best in the north. Increasing cloud across the far south of Ireland, central nd southern England. Rain will be reaching the far southwest just after lunchtime, then this edging north to be into southern Wales and southern England by evening. The rain turning heavy and the winds increasing in the far south too.

The rain then pushes north through the night, passing the ~Midlands, East Anglia and Wales, to reach northern England in the early hours. Increasingly windy too. Drier in Scotland, although showers over eastern coasts. Drier too in Ireland.
