Breezy, morning rain in Scotland then a few showers in the west

An area of rain moving into southwest Scotland this morning with another area of showery rain clearing northern and eastern Scotland. Some showers into northwest England and western Wales. fair for other areas with cloud breaking and some bright or sunny spells developing.

This afternoon is breezy and bright with sunny spells. Scattered showers affecting western coasts and hills, but most areas will be dry. More persistent showers and outbreaks of rain in Orkney and Shetland. Some showers in the south of Ireland merging to longer spells of rain. Mild for all, very mild in the south.

Overnight showers will be fading. However, an area of drizzle and rain will be affecting Ireland and the west of England and Wales. Dry in the east and fairly cloudy. Mild for all.
