Wet, windy and milder later this week before turning colder again next week

A milder and windier few days developing at the end of this week when low pressure brings wind and rain to many areas. Indications are that conditions will be turning colder again into the middle of next week, although there is still much uncertainty in the detail.

Friday 6/12/19
Rain in England and Wales on Friday morning as a front passes east taking some heavy bursts of rain with it. Brighter weather with showers follows from the west, the showers heavy at times and bringing a risk of thundery. The heaviest of the showers in northwest Scotland. Gales to the north and west. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Saturday 7/12/19
A ridge of high pressure building on Saturday. Some periods of rain and stronger winds moving in Ireland and western Scotland later. Dry for most with sunny spells. Highs at 3 to 6 in the north and east, but 7 to 11C in the west and south.

 
 
 

Sunday 8/12/19
Low pressure to the north on Sunday with a cooler, westerly flow affecting all areas. Sunshine and mostly dry weather once rain clears east, although some showers over western coasts and hills. Highs at 5 to 10C.

 
 
 

Monday 9/12/19
Low pressure to the east on Monday. A northwest wind brings a mix of sunshine and showers, most of the showers affecting northern and eastern areas. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Tuesday 10/12/19
A wet day may occur in much fo Ireland, England and Wales on Tuesday as low pressure drifts into the area. Milder in southern areas, but staying cooler in Scotland where it remains drier with some sunny spells. Highs at 3 to 10C.

Wednesday 11/12/19
A colder day as low pressure dominates conditions. There will be some showers but also sunny spells. Highs at 3 to 7C.
