A mild spell ahead with drier weather in the east for a time. Windy in the west with a risk of rain. Milder for all. Staying windy into next week with the threat of rain in the New Year.

Saturday 28/12/19 Higher pressure to the east with low pressure to the west. A strong south to southwest wind with cloud and rain through Ireland and western Scotland. Drier in central and eastern areas with brighter weather developing. It is likely to be fairly mild in these areas too. Highs at 8 to 13C.
Sunday 2/12/19 Cloud and rain in Scotland and Ireland on Sunday. Drizzle and rain into northwest England too. Drier in eastern and southern England, breezy. Highs at 9 to 13C.
Monday 30/12/19 Weakening fronts passing east on Monday. Low pressure to the north of Scotland, higher pressure to the south. Some cloud and outbreaks of rain in northern England and Wales as well as southwest England. Drier in eastern and southern parts of England. Showers in northern and western Scotland, some of them heavy. Highs at 8 to 13.
New Year's Eve 31/12/19 Probably dry for many areas on New Year's Eve. There could be some showers or rain in the far north of Scotland, these wintry on hills. A breezy day, highs near 4C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.
New Year's Day 1/1/20 Becoming windy through the day with low pressure off northwest Scotland. Gales in the north and west. Wet north and west, some of the rain heavy. Drier in the east and south. Tops at 7 to 13C.
Thursday 2/1/20 A cooler, breezier day. There will be sunny spells and showers, heaviest in the north and west. Drier in the east once rain clears. Highs at 6 to 10C.
