A changeable week with outbreaks of rain and gales at times

A changeable week of weather ahead. Low pressure will be bringing strong winds and periods of rain through today before conditions briefly settle somewhat on Monday. More unsettled weather on the way on Tuesday then conditions remain rather mixed through the rest of the week. There will be a few milder days and a few cooler days with periods of strong winds and outbreaks of rain.

Wednesday 11/12/19
Low pressure to the north of the UK brings another very windy day with frequent showers, some wintry, affecting western coasts and hills. Plenty of good spells of sunshine though, especially to the east where it will generally be drier. Southern parts of England could see heavier showers at times. Feeling chillier with highs at 3 to 8C.

Thursday 12/12/19
Another unsettled day on Thursday as low pressure to the north brings very strong winds and frequent outbreaks of heavy rain, particularly over Ireland and the southern half of the UK. Brightening from the west later but with scattered showers here too. Highs at 3 to 11C.
 

Friday 13/12/19
Low pressure moves east introducing a cooler northwesterly flow across the UK and Ireland. A brighter day with showers for western areas, these wintry over higher ground. Drier to the east. Highs ranging from 4C to 7C.

 
 
 

Saturday 14/12/19
A mixed day on Saturday as westerly winds bring outbreaks of rain and wintry showers to the British Isles. Some good spells of sunshine develop through the afternoon as rain clears to the east. Highs at 2 to 12C.

Sunday 15/12/19
A westerly flow prevails through Sunday bringing another mixed day of sunny spells and showers. Showers most frequent to the west and southwest and turning wintry over higher ground to the north. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Monday 16/12/19
Another mixed day on Monday with good spells of sunshine and scattered showers. Showers will be most frequent to the west and turn to snow over higher ground. Mostly dry and bright to the east. Highs at 3 to 7C.
