Mostly dry & bright
Rain far north

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 2nd December 2019
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

A cold but mostly dry and bright day for the UK and Ireland. Cloud increasing further to the north and west with outbreaks of rain becoming heavier through the day for northern Scotland. Breezy here too.

Good morning,

A cold start with a widespread frost for England and Wales this morning with patches of mist and fog. Slightly milder over Ireland, Scotland and Northern Ireland with just a patchy frost for more rural areas. Cloudier here too with outbreaks of rain and brisk winds for northern parts of Scotland.

Conditions continue much the same through Monday afternoon with cloudier skies to the north and west and outbreaks of rain becoming heavier and more persistent over northern Scotland. Dry elsewhere with the best of the sunshine over central and southern England. Highs reaching just 4 to 7C.

Rain becomes increasingly confined to northeastern Scotland and the Northern Isles through the evening. Continuing dry elsewhere with the clearest skies to the southeast.

Have a good day!

Claire
