A colder weekend then windy and more unsettled from the middle of next week

Staying cold through the weekend with overnight frost and ice patches as well as some fog. Turning more mixed into the middle of next week with a stronger westerly wind developing. Lower pressure to the north pushes bands of rain south and east later as temperatures become milder once again.

Tuesday 03/12/19
High pressure centred over the south of the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. A southwest wind brings more cloud into Scotland. Some low cloud over northwest coasts of England too. Some mist and fog in Wales and other areas of England, lifting to give some sunny spells here. Highs at 4 to 7C.

Wednesday 04/12/19
A weak ridge of high pressure to the south on Wednesday. Fronts passing east through Scotland bringing cloud, rain and strong winds here. Winds reaching gale force in northern areas. Best sunshine in the south and southeast. Highs near 5 to 8C.

 
 
 

Thursday 05/12/19
Windy on Thursday as low pressure passes north of the country. This brings rain to Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest Ireland, perhaps into northwestern England and Wales too. High temperatures at 11C in southern England, 6 or 7C in northern Scotland.

 
 
 

Friday 06/12/19
A strong westerly flow persists on Friday bringing further cloud and outbreaks of showery rain across the country. This falling as snow over higher ground to the north. Heaviest rain to the southwest. Gales possible. Drier and brighter east. Highs at 7 to 13C.

Saturday 07/12/19
A strong westerly flow persists with widespread high winds. Turning colder over Scotland. Showers affecting northeastern areas where the best of the sun will also be. Cloudy elsewhere but dry. Highs at 5 to 10C.

Sunday 08/12/19
An area of low pressure brings widespread strong winds and outbreaks of rain to the UK and Ireland. This is followed by showers to the west and southwest later. Highs ranging from 4C in the north to 12C in the south.
