Issued: 0900 Wednesday 6th May 2020
Duty forecaster: Dr. Simon Keeling

Turning much colder this weekend, then a risk of frosts next week

A temporary slip into much colder weather this weekend could see wintry showers affecting Scotland and parts of northeast England. Before then temperatures will be very warm for a time, mostly in England, Wales and Ireland. After showers and some light rain at the weekend, higher pressure builds next week and so conditions become mostly dry again. Under the clearer skies some overnight frosts could occur.
