Drier next week, cooler too with a risk of overnight ground frosts
A change in the forecast for next week. A few showers into the weekend, but these fading. High pressure then builds bringing drier weather and sunny spells for most. It is going to be cool too. There is a risk of some low cloud on eastern coasts, and the chance of a ground frost on a few nights in sheltered areas. Tending to be breezier in the south with a low risk of some patchy rain in southern Ireland and the far southwest of England.

Sunday 3/5/20
Low pressure remains to the east of the UK on Sunday. The northwest win brings sunny spells and showers, most to the north and east. More persistent rain is likely over Scotland and perhaps into Northern Ireland too. Drier in Wales and southern coasts of England. Highs at 12 to 17C.
 Monday 4/5/20
Higher pressure is now expected to be building into Monday. This could bring a dry day for many with broken cloud. The risk of some showers in Scotland and northern England. Highs around 13 to 18C.
 Tuesday 5/5/20
High pressure may stay over the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This should be bringing another fair day with plenty of sunshine for many. There is the risk of a morning ground frost in sheltered areas. Highs at 12 to 18C.
Wednesday 6/5/20
High pressure remains on Wednesday, probably to the east of the country. There is a risk of some patchy rain in southern Ireland and the far southwest of England. Elsewhere it should be dry with sunshine, although some patchy cloud on eastern coasts. Highs at 13 to 19C
Thursday 7/5/20
High pressure stays over the UK and Ireland on Thursday. The risk of some isolated showers on eastern coasts. Elsewhere it should be dry with sunny spells. A morning ground frost again. Highs at 12 to 18C.
Friday 8/5/20
Indications of a fair day with sunny spells. There may be some broken cloud, but overall it should be bright. Highs at 13 to 18C.
