Cool and mostly dry, then turning warmer next week

A cool few days ahead with high pressure bringing more dry conditions. There could be some patchy rain in northern and western Scotland but amounts will be very low. By next week it stays dry overall again, but temperatures should be starting to lift and it could be come warm in the south.

Friday 15/5/20
A weak cold front affects northern Scotland on Friday giving cloud and some spots of rain. These may affect northwest Scotland too. Other places should be dry with sunny spells and little change during the day. A few showers in southeastern parts of England as well as East Anglia. The best sunshine in western areas of England and Wales. Highs at 16C in the sunshine in southern England, 11C in northern Scotland.

Saturday 16/5/20
High pressure is to the south of the UK on Saturday. It should be dry in many areas with some sunny spells in the south. More cloud in northwest Scotland with some spots of rain here. Highs at a milder 20C in southern England, 12C in northern Scotland.

 
 
 

Sunday 17/5/20
High pressure over southern areas on Sunday. Cloud and outbreaks of rain in Scotland and Ireland, most of it in the west. Dry and bright in southern areas, warmer too. Highs at 14C in northern Scotland, 17 to 21C in most areas.

 
 
 

Monday 18/5/20
Higher pressure remains over the south of the country on Monday. There will be weak fronts affecting Ireland and Scotland, these bringing some spots of rain and drizzle here. Drier in other areas with the clod breaking and some sunny spells developing. A warm day in the sunshine in England and Wales at 24C in the southeast, nearer 14 to 17C in the cloudier north, but 12C in northwest Scotland.

High pressure brings dry weather on Tuesday. There will be sunny spells and it will be dry for most. Highs at 18 to 26C.

Wednesday 20/5/20
The area of high pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should be dry. Staying warm with highs at 16 to 26C.
