Dry and very warm at first, then cold next week

Dry weather is set to continue through most of the coming week. It is going to be very warm at first. A change next week as the flow becomes northerly and temperatures fall sharply. A hint of conditions being more showery towards the middle to end of next week too.

Sunday 31/5/20
Pressure remains high over the UK and Ireland on Sunday, centred to the east. There wil be some good spells of sunshine again, and it will be cool along eastern coasts. A few showers may be triggered in the afternoon in central England and Ireland. A chance of some showers in western parts of Scotland too. A brisk east breeze over eastern coasts, temperatures generally 17 to 22C, always coolest on eastern coasts.


Monday 1/6/20
High pressure to the east of the country on Monday. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should be dry for many. However, in the afternoon a few showers could break out in Ireland and western Scotland as well as northwest England. Temperatures at 18 to 24C.
 


Tuesday 2/6/20
A strengthening east to northeast wind across southern areas on Tuesday. This brings some cloud and a few showers to central and southern England and southern Ireland and Wales. Drier and brighter across northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland, although always feeling cool on eastern coasts in the breeze. Highs at 16C along eastern coasts, 18 to 22C in the south and west.


Wednesday 3/6/20
Weak fronts bringing some cloud into northern Scotland on Wednesday, a few spots of rain here. Mostly dry for other areas with plenty of sunshine, especially in the west. Patchy low cloud may affect eastern areas at times. Highs at 10C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England.


Thursday 4/6/20
A change in airmass on Thursday as the winds become northerly. It turns colder for all with some showers or rain in Scotland. Probably staying drier and brighter in England, Wales and much of Ireland, although some showers over northern coasts here. Highs at 9 to 21C.

Friday 5/6/20
Cooler air spreads south on Friday. More showers or outbreaks of rain in northern Scotland, and some showers affecting the east of Scotland and eastern England too. Always tending to be drier and brighter to the south. Tops of just 7C in northern Scotland, 21C in southern England.
