Wind, rain and feeling chilly...autumn is here!

The weather remains unsettled throughout the coming week. Strong winds and rain will be affecting all areas at times and rain may lead to localised flooding, especially in those areas which have already been affected. Winds will be strong at times too. Temperatures stay close to average overall.

Monday 07/10/19
A band of showery, sometimes heavy, rain spreads from west to east across the UK and Ireland as low pressure is centred to the northwest. Strong winds, potentially gales, affecting western areas. Sunny spells and showers follow behind the rain to the west. The southeast likely to stay dry until the evening. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Tuesday 08/10/19
Low pressure remains northwest of Scotland on Tuesday. This is going to be bringing more rain with it, followed by showers, the heaviest of them in Scotland and eastern Ireland. Winds stay strong across the country. Highs at 10 to 17C.

 
 
 

Wednesday 09/10/19
The area of low pressure is expected to be to the north of Scotland on Wednesday. A mix of sunshine and showers for all parts of the UK and Ireland. The showers heaviest in the west where they may also be thundery. Breezy with highs at 10 to 15C.

 
 
 

Thursday 10/10/19
Low pressure remains north of Scotland on Thursday. More rain, showers and strong winds for all, most of the rain to the north and west. Drier to the east with some good spells of sunshine. High temperatures at 11 to 15C.

Friday 11/10/19
Low pressure moves to the east introducing a cooler northwesterly flow. Conditions remain mixed with sunny spells, frequent showers and strong winds to the west. Rain moving into the west later. Highs at 11 to 17C.

Saturday 12/10/19
Outbreaks of rain spread across the British Isles as a front slips southeast. A very windy day with the heaviest rain for western Scotland. High temperatures ranging from 11 to 16C.
