Risk of ongoing flooding

It's a complicated weather story heading into the weekend and beyond, but the overall theme is unsettled, with more heavy rain in the forecast. This brings a threat of further flooding. Gales are possible at times. Temperatures will briefly rise later this week, then becoming chilly again next week.

Saturday 02/11/19
Confidence of precise detail is low, but generally unsettled conditions are likely. Low pressure centred toward the southwest is likely to push belts of rain northeastwards, setting in heavy for several hours, whilst some places will escape dry for several hours too. Blustery winds, risk of gales, particularly in the south. Highs 9 to 13C.
 

Sunday 03/11/19
Low pressure continues to dominate, with various separate centres circulating around the British Isles, making detail very uncertain. Expect areas of persistent heavy rain, but also some drier spots for at least part of the day. Windy, gales in places, especially around southern coasts. Highs 8 to 13C.
 

Monday 04/11/19
Low pressure stays in charge, with further zones of rain and heavy showers rotating across the country. Some persistent heavy falls in places, mixed with some fortunate spots which stay generally dry. Highs 7 to 12C, coolest north.

 
 
 

Tuesday 05/11/19
The wind is likely to turn northeasterly into midweek, with temperatures falling for most places. Clusters of showers spreading inland from North Sea coasts. Brisk and chilly winds. Highs 6 to 10C.

Wednesday 06/11/19
Pressure may build a little from the west, with drier conditions, but a greater risk of frost in the morning. A chilly day with a northerly wind. Highs 5 to 8C.

Thursday 07/11/19
Another zone of low pressure may spin up from the southwest, with renewed heavy rain, and some hill snow in the north. Blustery winds, risk gales. Highs 5 to 10C.
