Wind, rain, showers and cool temperatures for most

As the jet stream is over the UK and Ireland this week you won't be surprised to know that the weather is going to be staying unsettled. There will be periods of heavy rain and showers as well as gale force winds at times. It is likely to be cool for many parts of the country, although muggy conditions may affect the far Southeast at times. Overall a typically autumnal week.

Thursday 10/10/19
Another mixed morning on Thursday with a mix of sunshine and showers affecting many western areas. Eastern parts should be drier and brighter. During the day fronts will cross Ireland and move into the western parts of the UK bringing rain with them and also some low clouds and fog affecting western coasts and hills. Temperatures rising to around 11 to 16°C.

Friday 11/10/19
Areas of low pressure will cross Ireland and the UK on Friday. These will be bringing with them areas of rain, some of which could be heavy especially over Ireland, Scotland and the west of Wales and West of England. Brief bright spells may affect more eastern and southern areas. Breezy throughout. Temperature at 11 to 16°C.
 

Saturday 12/10/19
The unsettled weather continues through Saturday. A front may affect southern parts of the country bringing cloud and rain here, whilst more northern areas Will have a mix of sunny spells but with showers in the west. The showers could be heavy. Staying cool in the North at 9 to 12°C but milder to the south at 16°C.
 

Sunday 13/10/19
More unsettled weather to come on Sunday. Rain and showers will be affecting many areas and this could turn heavy in the west. Possibly drier in Scotland, northern England and Northern Ireland. Highs at 17°C in south-east England, but more widely 13 to 15°C.

Monday 14/10/19
Little changes on Monday with low pressure remaining in control. More wind and rain for many areas, although the rain probably turn into heavy showers in the north and west. Temperatures at 11 to 15°C.

Tuesday 15/10/19
Yet another wet day is likely for many on Tuesday as further friends and low-pressure affect much of the country stop winds may be to go force. Temperatures at 16°C in southern England, but 9°C in Scotland.
