Staying wet, more flooding into next week
Milder, wetter conditions return later this week as low pressure systems move back in from the southwest. A risk of a deeper low with gales by Sunday. Frequent spells of heavy rain bring an ongoing threat of flooding into next week.

Friday 01/11/19 Low pressure across the UK leaves things generally unsettled but milder by the end of the week. A spell of rain is likely to pass eastwards, heavy for a few hours, focused on southern and central England, plus Wales. Clusters of heavy showers may follow from the west, although detail is uncertain. Some drier conditions may develop for a few hours. Risk of strong or gale force winds around southern coasts. Temperatures between 9 and 16C, mildest in the far south.
Saturday 02/11/19 Things most likely remain unsettled, although some windows of opportunity for drier weather in between weather systems. Detail of timing becomes uncertain. A risk of some heavy rain returning across Ireland onto western coasts of Britain. Possible gales in the south and southwest. Mild by night and day, highs 10 to 15C.
Sunday 03/11/19 Confidence of exact detail is low, but further areas of low pressure are likely to extend in from the Atlantic. A risk of renewed belts of heavy rain sweeping up from the southwest. Brisk winds from the south to southwest, possible gales, especially in the southwest. Northern areas may become cooler, highs 8 to 15C.
Monday 04/11/19 The new week dawns with probably little change to the overall pattern. Low pressure is likely to be dominant, centred toward the south or southwest. Areas of rain or showers wrapped around the low, accompanied by brisk winds. Driest toward the northwest of Scotland. Highs 8 to 13C.
Tuesday 05/11/19 Ongoing uncertainty, but a generally unsettled outlook into midweek, with low pressure rotating slowly across the centre of the British Isles. Areas of rain and heavy showers. Cool in the north, mild south; highs 7 to 12C.
Wednesday 06/11/19 Low pressure may gradually move toward the southeast, giving way to a cool, showery north or northeasterly airflow into midweek and beyond. Local frost possible. Daytime highs 7 to 11C.
