More wind, rain and showers but signs of something less wet next week

Staying unsettled this week with more wind and rain for most. By the weekend, despite there being showers, the weather should begin to become less unsettled. This is a pattern which may continue into the early stages of next week as pressure begins to build slightly. Overnight mist and fog is likely to become more prevalent later in the weekend and early next week.

Thursday 17/10/19
A deep area of low pressure to the west of Ireland on Thursday. An occluded front will be bringing rain and cloud to much of Ireland and western Scotland with windy weather here too. A trough brings showers to Wales and southern England. eastern parts of England and eastern Scotland should be drier and brighter at first, although showers could occur here later. Highs at 11 to 15C.

Friday 18/10/19
Low pressure may be over Ireland on Friday. Bands of rain surrounding the area of low pressure affect much of Ireland, Wales, England and southern Scotland, mostly in western areas. Scotland and eastern England seeing fewer showers. Breezy for all. Highs at 10 to 15C.
 

Saturday 19/10/19
Low pressure is expected to be over the UK on Saturday. This brings a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers heavy at times, especially in northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 9 to 15C.

 
 
 

Sunday 20/10/19
Pressure stays low on Sunday. There may be some mist and fog patches at first, but these clear to leave sunny spells. Scattered showers will develop and some of these may be heavy. Most of the showers affecting the high ground of Scotland, northern England and Wales. Highs at 9 to 14C.

Monday 21/10/19
Pressure remains low on Monday. Early mist and fog patches clearing to leave sunny spells. Most places are dry although an isolated shower is possible. Highs at 10 to 14C.

Tuesday 22/10/19
Higher pressure may build on Tuesday. This could give a drier day with some sunny spells after morning mist and fog patches have cleared. Highs at 9 to 14C.
