Conditions stay mixed with further outbreaks of rain for many

Conditions stay mixed throughout this coming week. Low pressure will be in control and this will be driving bands of rain, some of them heavy, eastwards and northwards through the UK and Ireland. It will be windy at times too. Although briefly milder in the southeast, most places will be staying cool overall.

Wednesday 16/10/19
Wednesday sees a band of rain pass eastward across Ireland and the UK, some of it heavy. Brighter weather moves into Ireland, Wales and southwest England behind this though a few showers linger here, particularly over Ireland. High temperatures widely at 10 to 14°C, cooler for northern Scotland, 15 or 16°C for eastern parts of England.

Thursday 17/10/19
A weak ridge briefly builds on Thursday bringing a fine start to the day for eastern parts of the UK though more fronts pass eastward bringing rain, some of it heavy, to western areas. Drier and brighter to the south and east. Highs at 9 to 14°C, 15°C for some southern parts of England.
 

Friday 18/10/19
Low pressure to the northwest on Friday brings mixed conditions with strong winds and frequent showers. Showers heaviest to the south and west where they may merge to give longer spells of rain. High temperatures at 10 to 14°C, 15°C for parts of southeast England.
 

Saturday 19/10/19
Low pressure stays to the northwest on Saturday bringing the continuation of unsettled weather. Bands of, sometimes heavy, rain spread southeastward across the country. Brighter conditions follow to the west. Highs at 9 to 13°C, 14°C to the southeast.

Sunday 20/10/19
On Sunday low pressure moves to the northeast and we see the continuation of sunny spells and showers. Showers most frequent to the north and west. Mostly dry and bright to the east. Highs at 10 to 13°C.

Monday 21/10/19
Low pressure moves to the east of the UK on Monday and a ridge of high pressure briefly builds bringing a mostly dry and fine day. Light showers for eastern coasts. Highs at 11 to 13°C.
