Staying unsettled
Wind and rain

Issued: 0900 Tuesday 8th October 2019
Duty forecaster: Dr. Simon Keeling

Rai and showers continue, perhaps warmer in the south next week

As the jet stream is over the UK and Ireland this week you won't be surprised to know that the weather is going to be staying unsettled. There will be periods of heavy rain and showers as well as gale force winds at times. It is likely to be cool for many parts of the country, although muggy conditions may affect the far Southeast at times. Overall a typically autumnal week.

Brighter across northern England, Scotland and Ireland which showers in places, mostly in the west where they will be heavy. Feeling mild in southern England but much colder further north. High temperatures at 16°C in any brightness over southern England, but just 8°C in northern Scotland.
