Unsettled, wet and windy, cold at first but then milder later

Unsettled again through the coming week. There will be frequent periods of heavy rain at first. The rain turning more patchy later in the week, most in the west. It is ging to become cold during the next few days. Temperatures starting to lift again by the end of the week and the weekend, although still cool in the north.

Thursday 3/10/19
A ridge of high pressure over central and eastern areas of the UK at first on Thursday, a frost in Scotland. This brings fair and chilly conditions with sunny spells, although cloud increasing here through the day with rain by the evening. Rain in Ireland in the morning as fronts move in, this rain then spreading into Wales, western England and Scotland in the afternoon. Highs at 9C in northern Scotland, 15C in southern and western areas.


Friday 4/10/19
Rain will be clearing east overnight. A ridge of high pressure builds through the UK on Friday morning allowing for drier weather and some bright spells in the east. Cloudier skies to the west with some spots of rain over western hills and coasts. The afternoon stays rather cloudy with rain and drizzle developing more widely. Highs at 13 to 15C for most, 17C in the southeast.


Saturday 5/10/19
Rain in western areas on Saturday, this heavy at times over the hills. Eastern parts should be drier with a fair amount of cloud. Breezy in the west too. Brighter in Ireland with sunny spells and showers. Highs at 13 to 17C.

 
 
 


Sunday 6/10/19
Rain clears east on Sunday. A ridge of high pressure then briefly builds in bringing bright or sunny spells and drier conditions, although always a risk of a shower. Temperatures at 13 to 17C.


Monday 7/10/19
Rain may affect northern and western areas on Monday, less in the east. Some brighter conditions in the west. Highs at a milder 18C in southern England, 15C in Northern Ireland.

Tuesday 8/10/19
A ridge of higher pressure builds on Tuesday. This should bring a brighter and milder day over much of England and Wales. Cloud and rain in western Ireland and western Scotland. Tops near 15 to 19C.
