UK Forecast - October 29, 2019
Dry and cool again
Rain southwest

Wednesday
High pressure centred toward the east/northeast promotes a southeasterly wind across the country, strongest for southern and western areas. Areas of sunshine and broken cloud, sunniest toward the northwest. Dry for most places, but fronts will affect the southwest with thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain for Cornwall, Devon, and moving into south Wales. After a chilly start, daytime temperatures reaching 8 to 12C, highest in the south.

Wednesday night
Cloudy across much of England and Wales, with some patchy rain extending northeast into the Midlands and Home Counties. Rain fizzling out in the southwest. Staying dry toward the north and east, with skies generally clear for Scotland and perhaps far north of England with frost again here. A light southeasterly breeze. Some murk and fog patches. Lows -2 to +2C north, but nearer 7 to 10C in the south.

Thursday
Weak fronts drift northeastwards across the country as high pressure retreats to the east. A milder day than previous days, but a lot of cloud in the forecast. Some murk around coasts and hills in the west. Patchy rain and drizzle for many western regions, spreading northeastwards, but very little across east and southern England. Heavier rain possible in the southwest later. Highs 8 to 14C.

Friday
A spell of rain is likely to pass eastwards, heavy for a few hours, focused on southern and central England, plus Wales. Clusters of heavy showers may follow from the west, although detail is uncertain. Some drier conditions may develop for a few hours. Risk of strong or gale force winds around southern coasts. Temperatures between 9 and 16C, mildest in the far south.
