Bright spells, dry
Gales & rain in Ireland

Thursday
Broken cloud through Thursday morning with some bright or sunny spells. Early mist and fog patches in more rural parts of central and eastern England and Scotland. A few showers in northeast Scotland. Increasing winds in Ireland bringing rain into the west, the winds to severe gale force. The gales become widespread into the afternoon in Ireland where it stays cloudy and damp. Rain too in western Wales and southwest England. Mostly dry in other areas with bright or sunny spells but a fair amount of cloud too. Highs at 11 to 14C but 16C in Ireland.


Thursday Night
Low pressure drifts into Ireland tonight bringing heavy rain in central and northern areas. Severe gales in Ireland too. Rain moves through much of the UK too, the heaviest of it again in northwest England, southwest Scotland, north Wales and the Isle of Man. Drier in the far north of Scotland and becoming drier in southern England too. Lows near 6C in central Scotland, but more widely 8 to 11C.


Friday
The area of low pressure crosses England and Wales on Friday. This brings rain and strong winds with most of the rain in Wales and central England. Further rain in eastern Scotland. Drier and brighter in western Scotland and western Ireland with some sunny spells developing here. Temperatures at 11 to 15C.
 


Saturday
Low pressure to the northwest of Ireland on Saturday. Cloud and heavy rain in western areas of the UK and Ireland. Brighter with some showers in western Ireland in the afternoon. Drier in central and eastern parts at first but cloud increasing in the afternoon as rain arrives later. Temperatures at 12 to 15C for most, but 17C in southern England and Ireland.
