Outbreaks of rain
Drier Tuesday

Monday
Monday starts drier for many with some bright or sunny spells though it will be cloudier to the northwest with showers over Scotland. An area of low pressure brings cloud and outbreaks of rain into Ireland, Wales and much of central and southern England throughout the day. This becoming heavier and more persistent later. High temperatures at 11 to 14°C for most, 16 to 18°C to the far southeast.

Monday Night
Through the night, rain clears to the northeast over northern England and southern Scotland. A mostly dry night elsewhere though the odd shower could continue over western areas. A cloudy night too for most areas with clearer skies to the far northwest and southwest. Overnight lows ranging from 5 to 13°C with the mildest temperatures over eastern England.

Tuesday
Tuesday could be a drier and brighter day for many as a ridge of high pressure briefly builds across the country. Low pressure holds on over eastern Scotland bringing showers here while another low moves into the west of Ireland bringing rain here and increasing cloud across the western UK later. Showers move ahead of this over the southwest UK. Highs at 10 to 15°C for most, 16°C to the southeast of England.

Wednesday
Wednesday sees a band of rain pass eastward across Ireland and the UK, some of it heavy. Brighter weather moves into Ireland, Wales and southwest England behind this though a few showers linger here, particularly over Ireland. High temperatures widely at 10 to 14°C, cooler for northern Scotland, 15 or 16°C for eastern parts of England.
