Mixed with rain at times

Mixed weather continues with at times heavy rain moving through, particularly across southeastern areas of England where it could be thundery on occassion. Temperatures around average or just above across southern England.

Sunday 22/5/22
Low pressure is west of Scotland on Sunday, high pressure to the south. It should be a dry and bright day for most, good spells of sunshine to come too. Some cloud and rain affecting northern and western Scotland as well as western Ireland. Showers also likely to push across west Wales and northwest England during the afternoon. Highs at 23C in the east, 13C in western Scotland.

Monday 23/5/22
A somewhat more unsettled day across particularly England on Monday as rain pushes northwards across England, bringing some heavier spells of rain to southeastern areas. Elsewhere, expect sunshine and showers, with the driest of the weather across far western areas. Highs at a much subdued 13 to 17C.

Tuesday 24/5/22
By Tuesday the heavier rain clears offshore seeing a more westerly wind flow with many central and eastern areas staying largely dry and fine wirth good sunny spells. Western areas will be affected by showers however. Highs at 14 to 18C.

Wednesday 25/5/22
Weak fronts again passing from west to east on Wednesday. These bring cloud and some outbreaks of showery rain. Rain clearing from southern Ireland and southwestern parts of the UK later with sunny spells developing here. Highs at 14 to 19C.

Thursday 26/5/22
Higher pressure may build into the south and east on Thursday. This brings a drier day with sunny spells. Meanwhile, low pressure sits to the north of Scotland bringing cloud and rain in western Scotland and northwest Ireland. Breezy here too. Highs at 21C in southern England, 14C in western Scotland.

Friday 27/5/22
Pressure looks to build more across the country on Friday allowing for northern areas to be more settled today with mostly dry and fine weather further south. Less windy. Highs at 22C in the southeast and 16C in Scotland and Ireland.
