Mixed for many next week with rain and windy conditions at times
Largely dry and feeling warm in the sun across southern areas this weekend, though cloud and some rain further north and west. An mixed weather pattern sets up across the British Isles next week with rain and blustery winds on some days. Higher pressure then wants to settle conditions down by end of the week into the following weekend.

Monday 23/5/22 A somewhat more unsettled day across particularly England on Monday with outbreaks of rain affecting many parts of the country, turning heavy for some across eastern areas. Rain should clear much of Ireland and Northern Ireland through the day with sunny spells and scattered showers developing. Highs at 13 to 20C.
Tuesday 24/5/22 By Tuesday the heavier rain clears offshore allowing for a brighter day though with scattered showers about, some of these merging in to longer spells of rain. Winds strengthen through the day as more rain begins to affect western areas by evening. Highs at 14 to 18C.
Wednesday 25/5/22 A front passes from west to east on Wednesday bringing rain for a time to northern and western areas. Sunshine and showers develop from the west as the day progresses. It continues to be windy, particularly across Scotland with gale force winds in the north. Highs at 13 to 17C.
Thursday 26/5/22 Higher pressure may build into the south and east on Thursday. This brings a drier day with sunny spells. Meanwhile, low pressure sits to the north of Scotland bringing cloud and showery rain to western Scotland and northwest Ireland. Breezy here too. Highs at 19C in southern England, 12C in western Scotland.
Friday 27/5/22 Pressure looks to build more across the country on Friday allowing for northern areas to be more settled today with mostly dry and fine weather across the country, however there is the risk of some rain reaching Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Less windy. A warmer day for many with highs at 14 to 21C.
Saturday 28/5/22 High pressure looks to remain the dominant weather feature on Saturday again allowing for mainly dry and fine conditions, though mist and fog patches may develop overnight and first thing in the morning. There is, however, the risk of some rain affecting northern Scotland. Highs at a warm 17 to 22C though cooler across northern Scotland.
