Mixed start then a drier weekend

Mixed conditions for the next few days with some rain and showers for many parts of the country, most in the north and west. Pressure is going to be building into the weekend bringing drier weather and some sunny spells. Showers could afect northern and eastern areas though. Temperatures near average, but feeling cool in the northerly wind over north and eastern coasts and hills..

Thursday 26/5/22
Thursday is likely to be rather cloudy over Ireland, northern England and Scotland. Periods of rain in these areas, these becoming more patchy as the day progresses. Brighter for England and Wales, although still some showers here and there. Sunshine and showers too in Scotland with these merging into longer spells of rain in the far north of the country. Breezy again. Highs at 22C in the far south of the country, 11C in northern Scotland.

Friday 27/5/22
Higher pressure builds to the southwest of the country on Friday. There will be a front across southern Ireland and southern England with some cloud here. Heavy showers in northern Scotland. Elsewhere it should be dry with sunny spells. Highs at 12 to 14C in Scotland and northern England, 20C in southern England.

Saturday 28/5/22
High pressure is going to be to the north of Ireland on Saturday. Dry weather for most of the country with some sunny spells. Isolated showers could affect northern Scotland. Highs at 14 to 18C.

Sunday 29/5/22
A risk of the showers becoming more widespread on Sunday, mostly across Scotland, northern and eastern England. Tending to be brighter in the west and south with sunny spells. Highs at 13 to 18C.

Monday 30/5/22
Some showery rain could affet eastern areas on Monday, although high pressure to the west continues to bring fair conditions here with more sunny spells. Temperatures at 14C in the east, 18C in the west.

Tuesday 31/5/22
Higher pressure remains on Tuesday. This brings more dry weather, especially in the west and south., A few showers though for the north and east. Highs at 14 to 18C.
