Mixed this week, turning drier and warmer next week

Mixed this week with some scattered showers on Tuesday, then some rain or heavier showers in places on Wednesday. Thursday is drier before a band of rain slips south on Friday. Saturday and Sunday are mostly dry although some rain in the west on Sunday. Next week is showing signs of becoming warmer.

Thursday 5/5/22
A ridge of high pressure builds south of the country on Thursday. A trough in the east may bring a few showers to East Anglia. Elsewhere it should be a dry day with sunny spells and feeling fair warm too. Thicker cloud in Scotland and Ireland, some patchy drizzle north and west. Highs near 11C in western Scotland, 16 to 21C in other areas.
 

Friday 6/5/22

Saturday 7/5/22
High pressure builds on Saturday. There will be a fair amount of cloud, but most areas are likely to be dry. Some thicker cloud may trouble southeast England and East Anglia where there could also be a few spots of rain. Highs near 12 to 19C.

Sunday 8/5/22
The area of high pressure drifts east on Sunday. A southwest flow brings cloud across Ireland and western Scotland, some drizzle afecting western coasts and hills. Dry for most areas with some sunny spells. Highs at 15 to 20C.

Monday 9/5/22
High pressure remains to the south and east on Monday. This should bring more dry weather and some sunny spells. Rain affects Ireland and Scotland. Winds SW F4-F5 but F6 Ireland and Scotland. Highs at 15 to 20C.

Tuesday 10/5/22
High pressure is to the south on Tuesday with weak fronts across the country bringing cloud and some spots of drizzle, most in the west. Some cloud and patchy rain in northern Scotland. Drier with a few bright spells in the east. Highs at 15 to 19C.
