Cool for a time next week with sunshine and showers.

Cool and mixed for at least the first half of next week as lower pressure slides over the UK and Ireland. Higher pressure may build back in again later, however, showers are still likely to develop as we head towards the weekend though becoming warmer for more.

Tuesday 31/5/22
Low pressure remains on Tuesday. A day of showers, some of them heavy and prolonged, especially over Scotland and northern England as well as parts of Wales. Brighter in East Anglia and southeast England, although there will be showers here too. Highs at 13C in Scotland and 19C in southeast England.
 

Wednesday 1/6/22
Low pressure remains on Wednesday. More showers and a fair amount of cloud through the day across more northern areas, though much of England and Wales should be drier, however, cloud will build later here with the risk of some rain moving into southern counties by evening. Highs at 12C further north and a muggy 21C across southeastern areas.

Thursday 2/6/22
Low pressure just to the southwest of the country with higher pressure to the northwest drags across a northeasterly wind flow across Britain. Sunny spells and showers, showers mainly affecting western areas of the country, some heavy and perhaps thundery across the southwest of England. Highs at a warm 23C across parts of southern England. Warmer generally further west and a cool high of 13C in the east.

Friday 3/6/22
High pressure may try to build to the west of Ireland on Friday. Low pressure remains to the east. A north to northeast flow brings some further showers to northern and eastern Scotland and eastern England. Dry for most thanks to high pressure close by with the best of the sunshine and warmth in the west. Highs at 15 to 20C.

Saturday 4/6/22
A front may bring some rain into Scotland on Saturday. Higher pressure elsewhere with sunny spells and dry weather too. The best sunshine to the south. Highs at 15 to 21C.

Sunday 5/6/22
Low confidence in the weather pattern come Sunday. Central areas look most likely to see the best of the weather as this stage. It is a toss up currently whether we see lower pressure continue to move in across Scotland or push northeast from the southwest of England. Highs at 15 to 22C.
