A very warm weekend, mostly dry, but then a few showers developing
Temperatures rising in the coming days as hot air from the continental Europe wafts northwards. There will be sunny spells, but the risk of some coastal and hill fog. The risk of some showers by the end of the weekend, although these fairly well isolated but continuing into the new week. Turning fresher in the far west later.

Saturday 24/8/19 A very warm south to southeast flow on Saturday bringing a fair day for most. There will be good spells of sunshine and it should be dry. Cooling sea breezes developing around the coasts. A front to the west may bring some rain into western Ireland and perhaps northwest Scotland. The threat of some fog affecting coasts of southern Ireland. Highs at 23 to 29C, but 16C in the Hebrides.
Sunday 25/8/19 A slack airflow on Sunday with pressure lowering. It is likely to be another very warm day with broken cloud and good spells of sunshine. Some mist and fog patches around southern and eastern coasts. The risk of an afternoon showers in northwest England, western Scotland and Ireland as fresher air arrives here. Highs at 22 to 25C, but 30C in eastern England.
Monday 26/8/19 A weak front in western parts of the UK and Ireland on Monday. This could trigger a few showers in the west. Most other areas should be dry with sunny spells. A fresher day with highs at 18 to 26C.
Tuesday 27/8/19 Fronts remain in western Ireland and western Scotland on Tuesday bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain. Most other areas are dry with sunny spells, the best of them in the east and south. Highs at 20 to 25C for most but 18C in northwest Scotland.
Wednesday 28/8/19 A front edges east on Wednesday. This triggers showery rain in Ireland and western Scotland, then some showers developing over England and Wales later in the day. Tops near 27C in southeast England, 16 to 22C for most.
Thursday 29/8/19 The risk of a few thundery showers in northern and eastern parts of the UK. Fresher to the west with sunny spells and mostly dry conditions. Tops at 16 to 21C in the west, 24C in the east.
