Becoming increasingly warm and dry for many, some low cloud and drizzle on coasts

Higher pressure is likely to be building into the weekend bringing fair conditions with some sunny sells and warming temperatures. There will be variable amounts of cloud, the risk of some mist and fog around coasts. Potentially very warm in southern England. Next week starts drier and warm too, although a risk of some showers in western Scotland and Ireland.

Friday 23/8/19
Higher pressure building across England and Wales. There may be some morning mist or fog patches, these clearing to leave bright or sunny spells, the best in the south. Some cloud and rain in western Scotland. Dry for Ireland with sunny spells developing, the best in the east. A warm day with tops at 28C in the southeast, 17C in northern Scotland.


Saturday 24/8/19
A slack, humid south to southeast flow on Saturday. This wafts warm air north through all areas. Cloud will be broken with some sunny spells. The warmth may set off some showers in northern England and Scotland later. A risk of rain or showers developing in Ireland and western Scotland. Western coasts could see low cloud and fog at times too. Highs at 29C in southeast England, 21 to 25C for most.


Sunday 25/8/19
Weak fronts bringing a fair amount of cloud to more western areas of the UK and Ireland on Sunday. Probably brighter and drier in the east. There could be mist and fog patches affecting hills and coasts. A humid day with tops at 22 to 29C.

 
 
 


Monday 26/8/19
A ridge of high pressure extends through the UK and Ireland on Monday. Broken cloud and bright or sunny spells developing after a murky start for some. Highs at 20 to 29C.


Tuesday 27/8/19
High pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Tuesday. This brings dry conditions with decent spells of sunshine. Temperatures at 20 to 28C.

Wednesday 28/8/19
A weak front slips south through Scotland and into Northern Ireland and northern England on Tuesday. This brings some cloud and the chance of some patchy rain. Brighter and drier to the south and again to the far north. Highs at 18C in northern Scotland, 27C in southern England.
