Ongoing unsettled weather patterns to continue well into August

Low pressure sitting to the west of Britain will push warm and humid air across the country in the next few days, with some further heavy bursts of rain at times. Low pressure will continue to dominate next week, with further outbreaks of rain and thundery showers for many. Generally wet weather is due to persist for at least the 10 day outlook.

Tuesday 06/08/19
Areas of persistent rain are likely to affect many western and northern parts of Britain and Ireland as Atlantic fronts continue to feed in from an area of low pressure to the northwest. Heavy, showery rain with thunderstorms affecting northern and central parts of England, eastern Ireland and northern Scotland. A lot of cloud around on Tuesday and a rather humid feel again for many. Winds generally light, breezy near some western coasts. High temperatures at 17 to 23C.

Wednesday 07/08/19
Slack low pressure continues to dominate our weather into midweek with a continuation of areas of rain and locally heavy showers affecting many. Some thundery bursts for northern and western areas. Thursday 08/08/19
Low pressure staying nearby on Thursday bringing heavy and thundery downpours for parts of Scotland, Ireland and northern England. For southwestern parts of the UK, cloud will build through the afternoon with some heavy bursts of rain arriving through the evening. High temperatures at 16 to 23C.

The unsettled story is expected to continue, although detail is very uncertain at this time. Another area of low pressure arriving from the southwest bringing gusty winds and heavy rain for parts of Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Wales and southern Scotland. Highs at 15 to 24C.

Saturday 10/08/19
Detail continues to be uncertain but low pressure moving to the east could bring heavy showers, outbreaks of rain and gusty winds to western parts of the British Isles. Brighter to the east. High temperatures at 15 to 21C.

Sunday 11/08/19
Low pressure continuing to dominate weather conditions in the UK and Ireland with further outbreaks of rain and heavy showers. Brighter to the west and south though still with the risk of isolated showers here. Highs at 14 to 20C.
