Showery conditions continue for the start of this week

Showers continue into the start of this week with outbreaks of rain at times for Ireland nad western parts of the UK. Indications are that conditions improve from mid-week as pressure starts to build from the southeast. Showers and outbreaks of rain perhaps continuing for northern and western areas but generally becoming drier and warmer with frequent spells of sunshine further south and east.

Wednesday 21/08/19
Low pressure moves over northern areas on Wednesday bringing outbreaks of rain and showers across Ireland, Scotland, northern and central parts of England and into north Wales. Some very heavy rain is possible for western parts of Scotland. Staying dry and brighter over south Wales and southern parts of England. Breezy with high temperatures at 16 to 22C.

Thursday 22/08/19
Lower pressure stays to the north while higher pressure is to the southeast. Isolated blustery showers affecting central and southern England and much of Scotland while heavier, more persistent rain moves into northwestern Ireland and western Scotland later. A mostly dry and bright day for Wales, northern England and much of Ireland. Breezy again with highs of 15 to 22C.

Friday 23/08/19
Higher pressure to the southeast and lower pressure to the northwest brings showers and showery outbreaks of rain to Ireland and far western parts of the UK. Drier and brighter to the south and east though high cloud may keep the sunshine rather hazy. High temperatures at 17 to 24C.
 

Saturday 24/08/19
Higher pressure to the east brings a dry and mostly bright day to much of the UK while lower pressure to the west brings showers and light rain to Ireland, western Wales and western and northern parts of Scotland. High temperatures at 15 to 25C.

Sunday 25/08/19
An area of low pressure may track from the west across the UK on Sunday bringing heavy, thundery showers and outbreaks of rain to many. Showers easing with good spells of sunshine later. Highs at 15 to 22C.

Monday 26/08/19
Monday may see higher pressure building from the northwest bringing dry but overcast conditions for many. A few thundery showers may linger to the southeast. High temperatures at 14 to 21C.
