Fresher air arrives from the northwest this weekend along with with more mixed weather conditions. Tuesday 03/09/19
A front arrives from the Atlantic on Tuesday bringing outbreaks of rain, some of it heavy, to Scotland, Northern Ireland and western Ireland then later into northern England and northern and western Wales. Ahead of this it should stay dry to the south though cloud will build throughout the day. A mixture of sunshine and showers follows behind to the north over Scotland. High temperatures at 14 to 20C.

Wednesday 04/09/19
An area of low pressure passes to the north of Scotland bringing a northwesterly flow with outbreaks of showery rain. Showers most frequent over Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales and northern England. A few isolated showers may develop over the Midlands later. Drier and brighter to the south and southwest. A breezy day across the country. High temperatures at 13 to 19C.

Thursday 05/09/19
A cool northwesterly flow continues through Thursday with high pressure to the southwest. A mostly sunny day though with frequent, and sometimes heavy, showers for Scotland and northern and western parts of England, Wales and Ireland. These may merge to give longer spells of rain over western Ireland, northwest Scotland and northwest England. High temperatures at 13 to 18C.

Friday 06/09/19
Confidence is low at this time but a deep area of low pressure may affect the UK and Ireland on Friday bringing strong winds to most areas and heavy rain to north-facing coasts and hills. A cloudy day for all. High temperatures at 13 to 18C.

Saturday 07/09/19
Again confidence is low, but with lower pressure to the east of the UK, Saturday could be another very windy and cool day for southeastern areas. A mixture of broken cloud and sunny spells with just the odd isolated shower in the southwest and southeast. Highs at just 13 to 18C.

Sunday 08/09/19
Sunday may see a ridge of high pressure building across the country. This brings a bright, calm and dry day to many. Cloud builds from the northwest later as a front approaches. High temperatures at 15 to 20C.
