A very warm weekend, mostly dry, but then a few showers developing
Temperatures rising in the coming days as hot air from the continental Europe wafts northwards. There will be sunny spells, but the risk of some coastal and hill fog. The risk of some showers by the end of the weekend, although these fairly well isolated but continuing into the new week. Turning fresher in the far west later.

Sunday 25/08/19 A slack airflow on Sunday with pressure lowering. It is likely to be another very warm day with broken cloud and good spells of sunshine. Some mist and fog patches around southern and eastern coasts. The risk of an afternoon shower in northwest England, western Scotland and Ireland as cloud builds and fresher air arrives here. Highs at 20 to 26C, but 30C in eastern England.
Monday 26/08/19 A weak front in western parts of the UK and Ireland on Monday. This could trigger a few showers in the west and perhaps longer outbreaks of light rain for western Scotland. Most other areas should be dry with sunny spells. A fresher day with highs at 18 to 29C.
Tuesday 27/08/19 Fronts remain in western Ireland and western Scotland on Tuesday bringing cloud and some outbreaks of rain. Most other areas are dry with sunny spells, the best of them in the east and south. Highs at 20 to 25C for most but 17C in northwest Scotland, 30C in southeast England.
Wednesday 28/08/19 A front edges east on Wednesday. This triggers showery rain in Ireland and western Scotland, then some showers developing over northern and central England and Wales later in the day. Highs near 29C in southeast England, 16 to 24C for most.
Thursday 29/08/19 A band of showery rain clears to the southeast while fresher conditions move into western areas. Sunny spells and mostly dry conditions across the country on Thursday. Highs at 15 to 21C in the west, 24C in the east.
Friday 30/08/19 An area of low pressure to the northwest brings windy and wet conditions to western areas. Outbreaks of rain and showers for Ireland, Scotland, Wales and western England. High temperatures at 15 to 22C.
