Mild this week but then notably colder through the weekend and next week

Mlld weather for the rest of this week with lots of cloud and generally quiet conditions. However, colder weather looks set to arrive next week as northerly winds set in. There may be some wintry showers over the hills of Scotland and northern England.

Thursday 18/11/21
High pressure remains to the south of the British Isles on Thursday. Low pressure is to the north. Fronts tracking through northern Scotland bringing rain in Shetland and Orkney, some drizzle over northwest coasts of Scotland. Drier for the rest of Scotland, England and Wales. Always lots of cloud, especially in the west, but some bright spells breaking through, the best in the east. Breezy in northern Scotland, lighter winds to the south. Highs at a very mild 12 to 14C.


Friday 19/11/21
High-pressure is to the south of the British Isles on Thursday. There will always be a fair amount of cloud, especially through western areas where there could be some drizzle on the coast. More persistent rain affecting northern and western Scotland, but eastern Scotland should be dry with some bright spells. Bright or sunny intervals may develop across eastern England. The day will be very mild in the bright spells at 14C, nearer 10C in northwest Scotland.

Saturday 20/11/21
Staying fair again across England and Wales, the best of any brightness in the east. Front moving into northern and western Scotland as well as the north and the west of Ireland will move sidewards bringing periods of rain with it. Cooler air arrives in northern Scotland. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 13C in southern England.

Sunday 21/11/21
A cold day on Sunday with high-pressure sent it to the west of Ireland. A north to north easterly flow affects all parts of the country bringing sunny spells but also some wintry showers to northern and eastern Scotland as well as the high ground of northern England. Fewer showers west and south but feeling cold. Highs at 6 to 9C.

Monday 22/11/21
High pressure remains throughout the country on Monday. A weak front brings some patchy rain to the far north of Scotland. Morning frost across many parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Midlands, East Anglia, Wales and Ireland. A fair day with good spells of sunshine and dry for most, although a little breezy along southern coasts of England. Tops near 6 to 9C.

Tuesday 23/11/21
The area of high pressure remains to the west of Ireland on Tuesday. A cold northerly wind affect all areas. There could be a morning frost and the date self will be bright and dry with some good spells of sunshine. A band of clouds made moves out through Scott and bringing some wintry showers here. Highs at 5 to 7C.
