Windy Saturday

Issued: 0930 Wednesday 3rd November 2021
Duty forecaster: Alexi Venerus

Chilly weather until the weekend when a more unsettled flow moves in

Current chilly weather will be pushed away again by relatively milder air moving in from the weekend onwards when wind and rain will also move in. High pressure keeps southern areas largely dry but showers or rain further northwest.

Saturday 6/11/21
Low pressure to the north of Scotland on Saturday. Rain and gales, some of them severe affecting much of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Rain in Scotland and Ireland too, this reaching northwest England. Bursts of rain too for western Wales and southwest England. Drier in central and eastern areas of England. Highs at 9 to 13C.

Sunday 7/11/21
A ridge of high pressure builds for Sunday bringing drier weather, but also a fair amount of cloud in northern and western Scotland. Winds will be much lighter. There could be some outbreaks of rain in the far north of Scotland. A few brighter spells to the south. Highs at 8 to 12C.

Monday 8/11/21
The high pressure ridge still influences mostly dry conditions through Monday, although a front edges into north and west Scotland and Northern Ireland later in the day bringing some rain here. Windy in the north and west. Highs at 12 or 13C in southern England, 7 or 8C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 9/11/21
Outbreaks of rain across western parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland on Tuesday. Dry for the rest of the British Isles as high pressure still holds on here. The best of the sunshine will be in more eastern and southern areas. A milder day with highs at 10 to 14C.

Wednesday 10/11/21
Some patchy lighter rain and cloud for a time through central into southern counties of England as the weakened front continues to slide south. Staying breezy further north with showers affecting west Scotland and Northern Ireland, Western parts of Ireland too seeing some scattered showers. Drier elsewhere. Highs at 10 to 13C.

Thursday 11/11/21
A brief ridge again allows for many dry conditions, however, an area of low pressure and associated fronts brings rain to Northern Ireland, Ireland as well as western parts of the UK. Highs at 9 to 13C.
