Wintry showers later

Cooler with wintry showers later in week

Mild conditions move out and cooler air moves in. Higher pressure largely dominant through the week creating mostly settled conditions. Later in the week and weekend in particular do expect some wintry showers, more so down coasts and in the north, as weather turns slightly more mixed.

Tuesday 23/11/21
High pressure over the British Isles again through Tuesday sees a mainly settled day and largely dry conditions. Mist and fog now becoming common place across parts of England, Wales and Ireland. A brisk north-easterly wind through the far southeast and southern coasts of England sees some drizzle moving in here. Showers moving in on to western parts of Scotland too. Highs at 7 to 10C.

Wednesday 24/11/21
High pressure ridging in across England and Wales keeps weather largely dry and settled here. Meanwhile, further north, a front will push outbreaks of rain southwards across Scotland and Northern Ireland. A cool but not overly cold day. Highs at 6 to 10C.

Thursday 25/11/21
After a frosty start in the far north it will be cooler feeling day for many and perhaps cooler still in a brisk wind further east. Some patchy rain across England and Wales to start but will soon clear. Sunshine and mainly dry conditions elsewhere but also some coastal showers, these perhaps turning wintry for some. Highs at 3 to 8C.

Friday 26/11/21
A widespread frosty start to Friday and another cool feeling day for all. A dry day for many, however, a band of rain with strengthened winds will push across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Highs at 3 to 9C.

Saturday 27/11/21
Another chilly day on Saturday, again feeling rather bitter for those exposed in that wind. Wintry showers in the north of Scotland as well as down coasts but many central areas staying dry with sunny spells. Highs at 3 to 8C.

Sunday 28/11/21
A direct northerly wind expected on Sunday will see again a chilly day and with a brisk wind will make it feel bitterly cold in exposed places, particularly along coasts. Plenty of sunshine about but perhaps more in the way of cloud down coasts as showers will affect here, some wintry. Highs at 3 to 8C.
