Changeable weather with rain at times.

A mixed spell of weather through the Christmas weekend before a brief colder stint on Boxing Day. The weather pattern continues changeable through the week with rain and strengthened winds at times and fluctuating temperatures, though always tending to stay relatively mild in the south.

Christmas Day 25/12/22
Low pressure drifts off to the north of Scotland on Christmas Day. Rain will soon clear from NE Scotland to see many places stay dry with sunny spells across the country, though with showers affecting western areas. Some of these could fall wintry over the Highland region. A breezy day and it will feel cold exposed in the wind. Highs at 6 to 11C.
 

Boxing Day 26/12/22
A chilly start for many though in a brisk wind should keep the frost away for many. A ridge of higher pressure today keeps most places dry with sunny spells, though blustery showers in the west could pass across on to eastern areas at times. Highs at 4 to 8C.

Tuesday 27/12/22
Milder air moves back in on Tuesday. A cloudier day with outbreaks of rain moving in across western areas, tending to stay largely dry across eastern regions. Highs at 6 to 11C.

Wednesday 28/12/22
Broad and brisk southwest flow covering the British Isles as low pressure brings fronts through Scotland and Ireland initially before pushing eastwards across Wales and England, though SE England is likely to remain dry throughout. Highs at 8 to 11C.

Thursday 29/12/22
A cooler flow pushes down on to Scotland on Thursday with rain, sleet and snow showers expected in the north along with a brisk wind. Dry with sunny spells elsewhere across Scotland. Cloudier skies with some patchy rain through England and Wales. Highs at 6 to 12C.

Friday 30/12/22
Friday sees a frosty start to Scotland and a dry and fine day expected albeit feeling colder still here. Still cloudier further south with some patchy rain about but many staying dry. Highs at 5 to 9C.
