After a wet weekend for some next week should become drier, although still with some showers

An unsettled weekend with a risk of flooding across parts of southern Scotland and the far north of England. Higher pressure builds next week bringing drier weather with some sunny spells and feeling warmer too.

Tuesday 30/07/19
An area of low pressure tracks to the east across southern England on Tuesday bringing outbreaks of rain to Wales, western, southern and central parts of England and southwest Scotland through the day. Gales possible at times for southern parts of England and Wales. A mixture of sunshine and showers over Ireland and Northern Ireland and for northern and eastern parts of Scotland. Highs at 17C in northern Scotland, 23C in southern England.


Wednesday 31/07/19
Low pressure clears to the southeast on Wednesday but extends a trough across the UK bringing further outbreaks of rain to England and Scotland. These may be heavy at times. To the west and east of this band of rain it should be mostly dry and bright for Ireland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the West Country, northeast England, eastern Scotland and the far northwest. Highs at 17 to 25C.


Thursday 01/08/19
A ridge of high pressure builds over the UK and Ireland on Thursday. This brings sunny spells and dry weather for most. A chance of some showery outbreaks through the afternoon for western England, Wales and western parts of Scotland. Cloud building into Ireland through the evening. Highs at 17 to 25C.
 


Friday 02/08/19
High pressure extends a ridge north through most of the UK on Friday. This gives another fair day in most of England, Wales and central and eastern parts of Scotland. Breezier weather with cloud and outbreaks of rain affecting western Ireland. High temperatures ranging from 18 to 25C.


Saturday 03/08/19
Low pressure to the west of Ireland brings a mix of sunshine and showers over much of the of the UK with the exception of the far northeast of Scotland where it should stay dry. High temperatures at 16 to 25C.

Sunday 04/08/19
Further outbreaks of rain, some heavy, are expected for Ireland and the southwest UK on Sunday as low pressure stays close by. Showers and showery rain affecting the rest of the country. Highs at 15 to 24C.
