Lots of dry weather, feeling chilly, some showers or rain in northern Scotland

A ridge of high pressure brings plenty of dry weather during much of this week. There is always the chance of some showers or light rain in northern Scotland and it is likely to be feeling cool. Some indications of more frequent showers and outbreaks of rain as we head into middle parts of next week.

Friday 5/7/19
High pressure remains to the west of Ireland on Friday. Weak fronts in Scotland and eastern parts of England bring cloud here. There will be some spots of rain and drizzle in northern Scotland, a few showers in eastern England. Drier with some bright or sunny spells over southern Wales, southwest England and southern Scotland. Highs at 14 to 22C.

Saturday 6/7/19
High pressure stays to the west of Ireland with a ridge extending through the UK on Saturday. There may be isolated showers in northeast Scotland but for all other areas it should be dry. Good spells of sunshine developing, although some broken cloud in the east. Highs at 22C in the far south, 13 to 18C in other places and just 10C in northern Scotland.
 

Sunday 7/7/19
The ridge of high pressure remains through Sunday. A more north to northwest flow brings a risk of rain in northern Scotland. Fair for most other areas with good spells of sunshine and dry conditions. Highs at 12C in northern Scotland, 20C in southern parts of England.
 

Monday 8/7/19
Low pressure north of Scotland bringing some outbreaks of rain in the north and northwest. Better conditions for England, Wales and Ireland, although there is an increasing risk of a shower developing. Highs at 22C in southern England, 12C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday 9/7/19
A weak ridge of high pressure brings a mostly fair day on Tuesday. Sunny spells for many. Some cloud in western parts of Ireland bringing some outbreaks of rain here. Highs at 24C in southern England, 17C in northern Scotland and 21C in Ireland.

Wednesday 10/7/19
Hints of a more unsettle day on Wednesday. There are likely to be spells of rain in much of Ireland, England and Wales. Drier in Scotland with some sunny spells. Temperatures at 18 to 24C.
