A hot start, wet in the east this weekend, then more unsettled after a drier start to next week

A mixed spell of weather ahead. It is going to be very warm or even hot at first. Thundery showers will be developing by the end of the week with rain in the north and east this weekend. Temperatures then slipping. Next week sees scattered showers at first, the week then turning more unsettled as low pressure takes control.

Saturday 27/7/19
An area of low pressure drifting north to be off the coasts of eastern England on Saturday. A developing front brings an increasing risk of thundery rain to eastern parts of the UK, increasingly misty here and muggy too. Drier in the west with broken cloud and sunny spells, the best in western Wales and southwest England. Highs at 26C in southeast England, a fresher 20 to 24C for many and 17C in northern Ireland.

Sunday 28/7/19
A front over Scotland and eastern parts of England on Sunday bringing cloud and periods of rain, some thundery. A few showers in Ireland. Drier and brighter in Wales and southwest England. Becoming drier and brighter on eastern Scotland. Highs at 26C in southeast England, 15C in northern Scotland, 19 to 23C for most.
 

Monday 29/7/19
Low pressure off southern Ireland on Monday brings some rain here, this also affecting the far southwest. A front in central nd eastern Scotland bringing rain. Brighter skies elsewhere with sunny spells and dry weather. Highs at 21 to 25C overall, 19C in northern Scotland.
 

Tuesday 30/7/19
Low pressure affects Ireland again on Tuesday bringing rain into Ireland, Wales and the far southwest of England. Some showers in northern Scotland. Brighter with sunny spells in England and eastern Wales. Highs at 25 to 29C in much of England, Wales and Scotland, 19 to 21C in Ireland.

Wednesday 31/7/19
Low pressure drifts east over the UK on Wednesday. This gives rain and showers for most, some of it heavy. Uncertainty in where most of the rain will be. Highs at 20 to 24C.

Thursday 1/8/19
Pressure remains low on Thursday with further rain and showers. The showers could be heavy and thundery. Highs at 18 to 23C.
