Drier and brighter weather for the weekend, more mixed from mid-next week

Higher pressure builds into the weekend bringing drier and brighter conditions for many. There will be good sunny spells for most. It will be staying dry into the first part of the week. There are indications that conditions become more mixed into the middle stages of the week.

Sunday 14/07/19
High pressure looks set to dominate over the UK and Ireland on Sunday. This brings lots of dry weather with good spells of sunshine. There is a low risk of a shower forming over the Pennines and the Welsh mountains through the afternoon. Temperatures rising to between 19 and 23C but much cooler on eastern coasts at just 15 to 17C.

Monday 15/07/19
The area of high pressure should bring another fair day on Monday. They will be plenty of sunshine and it should be dry for most. Low pressure to the west could bring a spot of light rain into far western parts of Ireland through the late afternoon. Temperatures at 19 to 23C.
 

Tuesday 16/07/19
High pressure remains over much of the country on Tuesday. Another dry day with sunny spells for most. Scattered showers forming in northern and western parts of Scotland and Ireland as low pressure moves to the northwest. Highs at 18 to 25C, warmest in eastern England.
 

Wednesday 17/07/19
Low pressure over western Ireland on Wednesday is expected to be pushing outbreaks of rain eastwards through the country during the day. The showery rain may be heavy in the west at times. Highs at 19 to 23C, cooler in the northwest at 16 to 18C.

Thursday 18/07/19
A band of heavy rain moves southeastward across England and Wales on Thursday. Brighter weather with a few scattered showers follows behind for Ireland and Scotland. This spreading into Wales and western England later. Highs around 16 to 23C.

Friday 19/07/19
A slack pressure gradient over the British Isles on Friday may bring a mostly sunny day with just the odd scattered shower. These most frequent in the north and east. High temperatures at 14 to 21C.
