Variable cloud
Turning colder

Friday
Mist and fog patches about first thing on Friday should gradually lift through the morning. The UK and Ireland stays under high pressure on Friday giving plenty of dry weather with many seeing sunny spells, though where the cloud thickens during the middle part of the day there is the risk of some showers developing across southern Scotland into northern England and Northern Ireland with some popping up across SE England. Mist and fog look to develop again in parts of the north. Highs at 7 to 10C after a morning frost for some.

Friday Night
Mist and fog will develop more widely across the country tonight under clear skies. Mostly dry weather about, though a few showers affecting some coastal areas of Northern Ireland, Ireland and northern parts of Scotland. Lows dropping for many to 0 to -2C, though across the east and SE of England lows at 2 to 5C.

Saturday
Mist and fog will gradually lift through the morning on Saturday. A weak front brings cloudier skies and some patchy showery rain to Scotland into northern England and Northern Ireland as the day progresses, though most should remain dry. Staying largely dry with the best of the sunny spells across central and southern England and Wales. Highs at 6 to 9C though turning colder across northern Scotland.

Sunday
Cloudier on Sunday and feeling cold. A scattering of showers, some wintry with snow to the higher ground. More persistent snow fall to push in on to northern regions of Scotland later. Highs at 3 to 6C.
