Staying west this afternoon in northern and western Scotland with a band of heavy showers passing east through Ireland. Becoming drier and sunnier in western Ireland. Bright and mostly dry in southern England. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 14C in sunshine in southern England.

Saturday Night
Rain at first in northern and western Scotland, this being heavy. Some heavy showers in oparts of northern England and Wales, but these fading. Most of the showers will be clearing eastern Scotland by the early hours although a few may linger in northern England. Drier for other areas during the night. Lows around 4 to 7C, but there could be a touch of frost in southern Ireland under clearer skies and lows of 0C here.

Scattered showers could affect eastern England at first on Sunday morning, but these clearing quickly. Then most places will be dry as a ridge of high pressure builds. Always plenty of cloud, but some breaks in the cloud giving a few bright or sunny spells. The clou thicken through Ireland and western Scotland in the afternoon bringing rain here.
