UK Forecast - August 20, 2021
Heavy rain Saturday
Improving thereafter

Saturday
Wet for a time for most on Saturday as low pressure continues to push outbreaks of rain northeastwards across the country. The heaviest rainfall in the morning is expected across mostly western areas as well as eastern regions of Ireland and Northern Ireland, before the heavier rain band shifts further north and into central and eastern areas in the afternoon. As the rain pushes through clearing from the south and southwest expect sunshine to break through but also showers, these could be on the heavy side for some. Highs between 16 to 23C, perhaps higher across the southeast.

Saturday Night
Overnight, rain will gradually clear from the west with clear spells developing across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Wales and many western regions of Scotland and England. Patchy rain is likely to linger across some eastern regions of England and Scotland through much of the night, possibly falling heavy and persistent for some locations across eastern England, such as in and around York. Lows around 11 to 15C.

Sunday
Sunday will be a much improved day for most with bright or sunny spells and drier conditions for many. Some showery rain though will affect some western parts of England into east Wales, west and central Scotland areas as well as parts of SE England. Highs at 17 to 24C.

Monday
High pressure builds across the country on Monday. After a rather cloudy start sunshine looks to break out for many as the day progresses. Some showery rain could brush the far SE coasts of England first thing before clearing off here. A few local showers are likely to develop across parts of Scotland too later on. An easterly wind could see cloud linger across some eastern coasts and therefore feel comparatively cooler here, yet warmer elsewhere in the sunshine. Highs at 18 to 25C.
