Largely dry Tuesday
Rain in west midweek

Tuesday
A ridge of higher pressure brings largely dry, sunny and warmer weather, although local showers cannot be ruled out. The greatest risk of heavy showers will be focused on central and eastern Scotland by the afternoon, these drifting around slowly over a few hours. Showers also possible across northeast England. Cloud building in the far west as fronts approach from the Atlantic. Mostly light winds. Highs 16 to 24C, warmest south and east.

Tuesday night
Showers across Scotland should fizzle out overnight and many places will be dry with clear spells. Cloud continues to build in the west and more persistent rain will push into western regions of Ireland, Northern Ireland and into west Scotland. Patchy lighter rain perhaps pestering parts of west Wales and northwest England. Lows at 9 to 14C.

Wednesday
High pressure influences much of England & Wales resulting in a fine day here with sunny spells. Cloudier with outbreaks of rain pushing eastwards across Scotland, Northern Ireland while clearing most eastern regions of Ireland later in the day. Rain looking to affect parts of Wales and northern England by the afternoon. Highs 17 to 26C, warmest across the eastern half of England.

Thursday
Central, south and east England should stay dry with periods of sunshine. A weak front passing eastwards produces cloud and perhaps some rain for Wales and the northwest for a time, tending to fizzle out. Low pressure toward the west of Ireland brings brisk southwesterly winds and outbreaks of rain to Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Highs 17 to 27C, warmest in east & southeast England.
