Morning Call - February 19, 2021
Wet, dull, windy
Heaviest rain in west

Issued: 0530hrs Friday 19th February 2021
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Wet and windy, heaviest of the rain in the west

It is going to be a dull and windy start to the day across most parts of the country. Areas of heavy rain affecting western parts of England and Wales as well as Scotland and Ireland. Low cloud, mist and fog will also affect western and southern coast and hills. Tending to be drier in the east although staying breezy.

The weather does not really change much this afternoon. It stays dull and damp over a large portion of the country with winds reaching gale force in the west. The heaviest of the rain in western areas to where the risk of some local flooding. Staying wet in eastern Ireland. East Anglia and the far southeast may stay dry until late afternoon.

Tonight stays rather dull and damp with periods of rain for many, although this not as heavy as during the day. Low cloud and mist around southern and western coasts. Drier in Ireland and western Scotland.
