Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Mild and breezy, rain and showers

Another mixed day ahead for many places. Plenty of climbing around through this morning with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, the most persistent across northern England and Scotland. There will be some brightness developing during the morning and it probably becomes drier in the west. Some bright spells in central and eastern Ireland. More persistent rain in central and western parts of Scotland.

This afternoon seems many areas becoming dry and it will be brighter for Scotland and northern England with some sunny spells. Cloud across central and southern England and Wales, this class thickening with rain arriving back into Ireland, Southwest England and southern Wales through this afternoon and then spreading through all parts of southern and central England during the first part of this evening.

A windy night with an area of rain spreading or through Ireland, England and Wales and then into central and southern Scotland by this evening. Heavy rain may affect parts of Ireland, Wales and western Scotland. Tending to be drawn across central and eastern parts of southern England. Mild for all
