Milder
Rain, showers

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 15th February 2021
Duty forecaster: Claire Darbinyan

Early rain clears southeast England while early mist and fog patches also lift and clear. Heavy showers spread across Ireland and into England through the morning but these tend to fade through the afternoon. Cloud thickens from the southwest with rain, this locally heavy, spreading across Ireland and the southwest UK accompanied by strengthening winds and coastal gales.

Good Morning,

Outbreaks of rain clear east from southeast England through the morning while any early mist and fog patches also slowly lift and clear. An area of very heavy showers spreads across Ireland and into western parts of Wales and northern England by lunchtime. Showers also affect western parts of Scotland where they may merge to give longer spells of rain. Windy here too.

Showers fade for most through Monday afternoon though a few linger over northwestern Scotland where it stays windy. Cloud thickens across much of the UK and Ireland during the afternoon as two separate areas of rain arrive over the southwest of Ireland and the southwest of the UK through the late afternoon. The best of the afternoon sunshine becomes increasingly confined to the northeast.

Becoming cloudier for all through Monday evening with heavy rain spreading across Ireland and patchy rain spreading across Wales and the southwestern half of England. Rain is accompanied by strengthening winds with coastal gales for western and southwestern areas.

Have a good day!

Claire
