Heavy rain in the west, drier in the east, mild for all

Another very mild day in central and eastern parts of England. Breezy here with cloud breaking and some bright or sunny spells. An area of thicker cloud with periods of rain and drizzle affecting northwest England, Wales and western parts of England. There could be a few brighter spells in the drier parts of England.

Some periods of rain and showers in central and western Scotland at first, although this is going to fade through this morning and into the afternoon. Rain also affects the east of Ireland. Becoming brighter in the west of Ireland and eastern Scotland with some sunny spells.

Overnight cloud and some drizzle or patchy rain passes east through England, drier to the north and west. Some showers in western Scotland and western Ireland, drier in the east of Ireland. A touch of frost may occur under clearer skies i central and southern Scotland as well as southern Ireland.
